Lauren Hustler

Lauren began dancing at the age of 4 studying the Cecchetti method of classical ballet under the guidance of Cecchetti examiner, Robyn Ross. She then went on to study at the North Shore Dance Academy receiving distinction and honours respectively for her graded and major examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance. Lauren completed the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance in 2009 and is now a mentor and tutor to aspiring teachers undertaking this course. Lauren also holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in Neuroscience and sub major in human physiology; a Bachelor or Laws with First Class Honours and a Master of Health Laws, all from the University of Sydney. In 2017, Lauren completed the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet teachers training program in the Vaganova method under the guidance of Christine Walsh.

Lauren is an eight time winner of the prestigious City of Sydney eisteddfod in Classical and championship sections including the Robert and Elizabeth Albert scholarship. Lauren was an interstate associate of The Australian Ballet School and later undertook rigorous training with the school. Many of Lauren's former students have gone on to achieve great successes at both a national and international level gaining acceptance into the Australian Ballet school, English National Ballet School, the Royal Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School along with the prestigious classical and contemporary course at WAAPA and other notable European finishing schools. Students have gained notable successes on the international stage including winning Prix de Lausanne, Youth America Grand Prix and the McDonald's Ballet Scholarship at Sydney Eisteddfod.

Lauren teaches all grades and vocational levels of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus at schools all over NSW, she also instructs body conditioning and repertory work. Lauren's students consistently achieve in the top percentile for their RAD examinations at both graded and vocational levels, with most of these students also being associates of the Australian Ballet School through the Interstate Training Program. Lauren also teaches the Diploma of Elite Performance at Brent Street across the Triple Threat and Classical/Contemporary streams, along with several other prestigious full-time schools based in Sydney and Newcastle. Lauren is a Senior Lecturer in Classical Ballet at The Australian College of Physical Education, instructing those students undertaking the Bachelor of Education in Dance and the Bachelor of Applied Dance.

Lauren travels regularly around Australia to adjudicate across classical and theatrical dance styles. Lauren aims to train and encourage her own students and those she adjudicates, to achieve technical excellence whilst also appreciating the artistic maturity requisite development in the performing arts.
